      you have to follow these steps: download the ipsw file for 6.1.3 and 7 and if it's dmg the just rename to ipsw, connect your device to iTunes and make a backup to icloud or your computer, hold shift (windows) or option (mac) and select restore, then click the 6.1.3 ipsw file, let the restoring process go as it should and then once that's done, set up as a new device, but don't actually set it up, when it gets to the welcome screen just go on iTunes and hold shift/option and click update and click the ios 7 ipsw file and then set it up as a new device and set it up manually like you would with a new device, and it should work

      you should enter dfu : Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
      Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
      Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
      Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode then restore your iphone .
      or download ios 6.1.4 ipsw if your iphone 5 user or if you are not then download ios 6.1.3 ipsw for your device then hit shift+ restore then select your ipsw and let itunet complete the work

    This totally worked for me !

    I have an iPhone 5, I downloaded the iOS7 file from this site, and connected my phone to my PC.
    Then I Shift + Left-click on 'Check for Update' in iTunes.

    It then updated and voila ! I'm on iOS7 now.
    Looks damn awesome though its still a little laggy but its nothing to be bothered with !

      just restore power off and then when you power on hold home button and power button until the itunes image comes up and then go to itunes and make sure you have a ios 6.1.3 ipsw hold shift and click restore then pick the ipsw you can down load ios 6.1.3 from this website if you dont have it you just have to look at the right column and find the page with the download links

      just redo it lol if you have to restore but when it froze on me i just turned it off and when it came on it worked i dont know why you guys want this if you cant troubleshoot simple problems it has many issues and most apps dont work on it

      rename extension dmg to ipsw if you unzip it it will give you apples hfs+ file structure so if you get a dmg file just rename it.

    I've failed multiple times install the iOS 7 BETA 1 during installing update (-1 Error code)
    It said need install at least two times but i still failed and it said the phone need to service(info from APPLE SUPPORT)

      no you should be able to do it are you restoring or shift+upgrading?you should be shift+upgrading not not restore or shift+restore and that should work but i believe right now all the beta installs and upgrades are done for now you have to wait for the next beta or the official

    these ipsw's are timed if you dont get to them in the alloted time period then they will be worthless to you and then there's no point in leaving them up if you cant download it was either expired or apple made them take it down remember they want us to pay $100 for a develepors account to get this stuff

      You dont need to install beta 1, 2 then 3. Just download beta 3 for your device and you can do OTA update to beta 4 as soon they release it. I think you can't update from beta 1 to beta 3 trough OTA update I try that my self and it was saying I alredy have latest update

    Can someone verify that beta 3 will no longer install because either the dev authentication server is down, or they stopped the install because beta 4 is coming tomorrow, etc??
    i was able to install beta 3 just fine 2 days ago...sunday the 21st.
    but yesterday and today it gives me the incompatible firmware error - even tho the same files worked fine earlier on the same phones...?!?!

    I tried it on my iPod Touch, and I followed instructions exactly right. I renamed the .dmg file to .ipsw, but when I try to put iOS 7 on my iPod, iTunes says "The iPod "Riley's iPod" could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible." I am sure I have the right download. I tried other websites too and I always get the same error. any suggestions?

    I have updated my iphone 4s to ios7 but then I restored my iphone completely to fabric settings. but when i try to set up my iphone again it says that i have an activation error "this device is not registered as part of the iphone developer program".       Nvm I used 7-zip to extract several times then took the restore.

    The first little issue was the extraction of ipsw file out of dmg image which I hadn't heard before being a Windows user. I used DMG extractor, and it was easy. Then I managed to follow all steps without a problem. That is backup the iphone, make it a "new iphone", then select the new ipsw with Check for updates + shift. It works quite well on my iphone 4. I must say that it has not left too much of an impression on me, though. It looks and feels different. Maybe they should have stuck with the original appearance, and add the new functionality. This is just "too modern", and I believe many users will tend to be reluctant to it.

      First when u are in 6.1.3, u restore it to 6.1.3 itself as set as a new iphone then again connect your phone n press Shitft+update and select .ipsw file
      it works fine there after

    i have an iphone 4 cdma, i downloaded the correct file per the link for the iphone 4 cdma, i changed the file type to ipsw by renaming from .dmg to .ipsw and when i plug in my phone and do shift+check for update and select the ios 7 ipsw file itunes says this file type is not compatible, i'm currently running ios 6.1.3, do i need to re-download ios 6.1.3 first and then do ios 7, just lost at this point bc it keeps saying the file is not compatible even tho i have downloaded the correct file several times to no avail

    download A1428 for canada and usa network phones.
    download poweriso
    right click on dmg file and open with poweriso.
    drag the ipsw file from poweriso to desktop.
    backup ur phone and click shit + update and magic will happen in 5 minutes..
    just did that to my iphone 5 and 4s ( go with beta 3 file not 4)
