ReplyDeleteWhat to do when i get this message, because i restored straight without doing the factory setting?
"We're unable to complete your activation." on the itunes and theres no other options where to click to restore the first settings.
Please help me really fast! Thank you!
hold down the power and home button for 10 seconds. after that let go of the power button, but continue to hold the home button for 15 seconds. your phone will now be in dfu mode and recognized in recovery mode. this will give you the option to restore. do this and you should be restored to 6.1.4/6.1.3! hope this helped
DeleteIt worked on my Verizon iPhone 5, thank you! Can I turn on iCloud backup while on this iOS 7 beta or will that mess up my backup history?

Delete***DO NOT USE THE IOS7 BETA*** I used it on my iphone 4 today and after much excitement i noticed my pocket getting very hot and my battery began to drain quickly. I came home and was able to revert back to ios 6.1.3 via another site to get my phone back to normal. I was looking at an upgrade on my att account and i decided to check my usage when i realized my phone had been using cellular data, even though it was on wifi, the whole day! IT BURNED THROUGH 2 GIGS OF MY DATA SHARE PLAN FOR NOTHING!!!! I HAD NOT DOWNLOADED APPS TO IOS 7 OR ANYTHING! it was sporadically sending 20 mb bursts every few minutes all day!!! i know its a beta version and im sure there are still bugs but this is not good. i am a cell phone tech support guy at a call center and i have been getting these calls all day about data being used even with the phone on wifi..... i was going to get a new iphone but i dont wanna have to watch it religiously to make sure i dont go over my plan and i have 10gbs! ***BE CAUTIOUS***
ReplyDeleteyou just killed my head.. How about read the description of this beta before testing it? It's not for you. Please stappppp!!! Next time Apple should have the line "NOT FOR STUPID" in Caplocks on their future betas.

ReplyDeletei've restored my phone but now pressing shift and then check for updates does nothing for me, it just comes up with a box saying that 6.1.3 is the most recent software for my phone? am i doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteworks for 4 & 4s perfectly havent tested on iphone 5 as yet but im sure it would also work on that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mates!
ReplyDeleteWorks like a charm on my iphone 4.
I even backed up all my previous defs from itunes backup.
There's still some bugs, the ios frozes often and sometimes it gets laggy in some operations.
But its cool to have a fresh look.
I agree that the interface seems outdated more quickly than the previous one, and I think the transparencies are not fully working (or I don't know if they are as suppose to).
But its running...
Just hope I can go back to ios 1.6.3 if something goes wrong.
Cheers
Yap,
ReplyDeleteJust confirmed and although its working, the transparencies don't work correctly (there's grey boxes where transparency should be).
In iphone 4.
Anyone knows if there's a solution?
Worked for my iPhone 4S....
ReplyDeletewhere is the links?
ReplyDeleteI got an iphone 5 and it said that my device is not registered as part of the iphone developer program..

ReplyDeleteWhen the iPhone is in the process of updating to iOS 7 is the screen on the phone supposed to be black the whole time? iTunes says it's updating but my screen on the phone is all black...
ReplyDeleteCan you put your back up back on your iphone after installing ios 7?
ReplyDeletei got the message saying i need an apple developer account, could any of you who made it work please say exactly what and how you did it please?
ReplyDeletedownloaded it last night, i couldn't get it to work by downloading the ipsw file from Mega, i had to d/l the DMG file ans extract it to work on my iPhone 5 GSM 32 gig. So far every app I've opened has ran just fine, they've crashed a few times but other than that they all work. Was worried my alarm wouldn't go off this morning so I set my ipad as well and it worked! Apps like instagram, tumblr, kik, the chive, TWC, etc all work without much issue, they just run slow.
ReplyDeletedon't know how much I like it... some of the animations are sleek, but the messages app and such seem weird... Guess it will just take getting used to.
But really, i think I liked a jailbroken 6.1.2 better...
This method works only for USA gsm`s ?
ReplyDeleteIs it for sure we have restored the iphone 4s to its ios...... before updating to ios7???? plz help me!!!
ReplyDeletei would like to know as well. (i used a different site and worked fine on my phone didn't on my sisters attempting to use this method)also 7-zip doesn't find any ispw files in the .dmg

ReplyDeleteFuncionou no meu iPhone 4. Você tem que segurar option ou shift e clicar com o botão em ATUALIZAR.
YES IT DOES WORK... Only problem is now the iMessage doesn't turn on, it says "an error occurred during activation. Try again"
ReplyDeleteI restored my iPhone 5 with the 6.1.4 version and now that I've saved it as a new device I've tried updating it to 7.0 and it says the firmware isn't compatible? I did everything exactly how you said and that was my only problem..
ReplyDeleteIt works perfect for me ! iphone 5 16gb model A1428 Used with Entel in Chile. As some of u said before sometimes it runs a little slow but is comprensible due to the fact that is a beta version. THANKS EVADERS !
ReplyDeleteDo we lose everything on our phone if we do this? You said set up as new, so I just want to make sure that I don't lose anything before I do this. I backed up my phone, but I just wanted to double check. Please reply! Thank you so much! :)
ReplyDeleteYou DON'T have to RESTORE your phone. Just hold down SHIFT while you click with the left clicker on the mouse and you can search for the iOS 7 for whatever phone you have.
ReplyDeleteCan you back it up while you have ios 7 so you have all of your normal stuff like before?
ReplyDeleteI need help. I got ios 7 and i did everything correctly. However, now i want to get all of my stuff back from before. When i tried to back it up, it said that the latest backup had been 30 minutes ago, but i remember i backed it up earlier than that.. What can i do?
ReplyDeleteim dowloading it now, just to clarify you can back it up once its on ios 7
ReplyDelete??
thanks evad3rs!!!! it worked on my iPhone 5 :) its really amazing! love it!
ReplyDeleteWorked for my iPhone 5! Just do exactly what the article does say above. Be careful, for installing ios7, press alt (windows: shift) + CHECK FOR UPDATES!
ReplyDeleteFor everyone having problems with the "firmware", the easiest way to get your CORRECT FIRMWARE is to plug into iTunes, and then just hit "restore iPhone" and it will automatically download the EXACT firmware YOUR iPhone needs. This is the simplest way, just hit "restore".
ReplyDeleteAfter it restores to your latest firmware, set up as a new iPhone, THEN shift-click "update" and navigate to your iOS7 file.
My phone is allready 6.1.4, do i need to donwlad the file for that again where can i get it from as i did the update on my device....
ReplyDeleteCan someone help? I downloaded the mirror file and was prepared to start downloading but iTunes wasn't able to identify the file, I've heard the problem was because of it being a .dmg file type but I'm not too sure. Please Help

2- go to itunes then shit+ alt on update choise the .ipsw and install.
Mine also says I need an Apple Developer Account as well..though I followed the directions to the T. Any advice on how/if I can restore old software or get the necessary Developer Info? Thanks!
ReplyDelete6.1.4??? i click update and it says my 6.1.3 is the latest firmware... are you sure you didnt put a typon?
ReplyDeleteI can confirm it works on iPhone 5 model A1429 using an up-to-date mac. Here is a more in depth list of instructions on how I did it.
ReplyDelete1. Plug your iPhone into the mac via USB and update your iPhone using iTunes to iOS 6.1.4 or iOS 6.1.3 for non iPhone 5 users. (if your phone is already up-to-date you can safely skip this step)
2. With your up-to-date iPhone plugged in via USB to your mac click restore iPhone (using iTunes) this will wipe your iPhone to factory default.
3. Download the version of iOS 7 that matches your device here http://www.evad3rs.net/2013/04/ios-7-download-install-links-how-to.html you can see what model your iPhone is on the back of your iPhone. (note that safari will not work to download this large file and you must download google chrome)
4. If you are doing this on a mac the downloaded file will be a .ipsw file, drag the file to your desktop for easy access.
5. In iTunes setup your iPhone as a new iPhone, do NOT select to restore a back up or any other options.
6. Unlock your up-to-date restored iPhone and go through the setup until you reach the homescreen.
7. Open iTunes and plug your up-to-date restored iPhone (on the homescreen) via USB into your mac. (its okay if its been plugged in the whole time)
8. iTunes will attempt to sync your iPhone just click the "x" that appears next to the load bar at the top middle of the window, its okay if you forgot or you didnt see it sync your device I personally just cancelled it every time im not sure if this is a required step.
9. In iTunes find and scroll over to a button labeled update, its right next to a button labeled restore.
10. On mac, hold the alt/option button and left click the update button.
11. A finder-type window will open up and allow you to look through the files on your computer. If you dragged the iOS 7 file to your desktop just click desktop in the finder window (if you put it somewhere else just go to where you put the iOS 7 file) and find the iOS 7 file and click it. The option to open the iOS 7 file will now appear, click on it.
12. If done correctly the finder window will close and your iPhone will start updating to the iOS 7 software, leave your iPhone plugged in and in a few minutes your iPhone will be running iOS 7.
13. Do NOT restore your back up to get old data back, if I am in the right understanding this will put your iPhone back to iOS 6.1.4/3 but im not sure; its up to you to risk messing it up.
Good luck.
and where am i suppose to download 6.1.4 if it doesnt exist?
ReplyDeleteI followed all the instructions and this shit doensn't work !
ReplyDeleteQuestion to the thread starter :
Is it so hard to make a god damn video if 80% of the people got problems with it ?
It works perfectly!!! Thanks, just saved me 9 bugs!

Nothing more or less
it says "the iPhone could not be updated because the firmware is not compactible"
ReplyDeleteIt Work , Thanks !!
ReplyDeleteYes it works for me ios 7 it is very beautiful and it is active
ReplyDeleteOMG this works!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm using iPhone 4, but how do I find out which download suits my phone? There are 3 different downloads. Also, I'm downloading a CDMA version, but it's in dmg format, instead of ipsw. Does it work for windows as well? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWorked like a charm!! I am now running IOS7 Beta with all my apps and files.
ReplyDeleteFollow the instructions as stated above. I have a Iphone 5 a1428 GSM running 6.1.2 with Jailbreak. If anyone is wondering: Yes! you will lose your jailbreak after installing ios7.
Steps below:
IMPORTANT: Make sure you do a full backup in Itunes(File > Devices > Backup) and transfer all your purchased apps, music, books, etc to Itunes (File > Device > Transfer Purchases from " ")before you start.
FOR IPHONE 5 :
1. Download IOS 6.1.4 from Itunes's server. If you already have 6.1.4 you do not need to do this.
2. Download IOS7 from the link provided:
https://mega.co.nz/#!HwRW3Bqb!U_PBaVaYun-i3v1AM5e-rWpAQkYeI2Xdnxcksm_ZmT4.
Filename: ios_7_beta__iphone_5_model_a1428__11a4372q.dmg (1.12 GB)
3. For Windows users: Download a software called TRANSMAC (Google it!) extract the .ipsw IOS7 firmware file from the .dmg file you just downloaded. MAC users should be able to open the .dmg file and find the .ispw restore file right away. MAC users go to step 4a.
4. Windows users: Open Transmac, select File > Open Disk Image and look for the dmg file downloaded on your computer.
4a. Once the disk is mounted, click on the HSF+ Volume folder under the disk and look for Filename: iPhone5,1_7.0_11A4372q_Restore. Drag/Copy the file to your desktop or any place of you choice.
5. RESTORE to IOS 6.1.4 with Itunes. If you are in any other firmware when restoring, Itunes will ask you if you want to RESTORE AND UPDATE, select that option.
6. Once the phone reboots in IOS 6.1.4 install as new Idevice. DO NOT Restore from backup.
7. When the phone is fully running as a new idevice using ios 6.1.4 press SHIFT + UPDATE (Windows users) or COMAND + UPDATE (Mac Users)and locate your IOS7 build on your computer.
8. IOS7 will be installed. Once fully loaded you can RESTORE FROM BACKUP. Congratulations you are now running IOS7 and soon will have all your personal configurations and apps.
If you do not like IOS7 or are having issues, you can always SHIT + Restore your phone back using your IOS 6.1.4 and restore your latest backup.
You will need to know though where the file is located in Itunes if you downloaded straight form Itunes.
Hint:
On Windows XP :
Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
On Windows Vista/Windows 7 and 8:
Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
On Mac:
~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
No jailbreak is available with this firmware yet! :(
Hope this help to anyone else having issues.
dude you are awesome thanks a million
Deletecan anyone share me the ipsw file download link pls? i really cant find
ReplyDeleteAfter falling into the same trap of having to activate iOS 7 beta with the developers account I found a simple and very accurate procedure that has worked on two of my friends iphone 4 the first step i had to do with the first phone was downgrade it back to 6.13 then the simple procedure was instead of using restore use update on mac press option and update then select the iOS7 beta which you have downloaded for the corresponding phone and just wait for the steps and you're done. Worked like a charm on the second iphone 4 without any hiccups the backup wasn't needed but its always good to backup when doing a drastic software upgrade like that
ReplyDeleteHow did you get out of the Activate iOS 7 with developers account trap?!?!?
DeleteIm stuck and im freaking out D:
Please please please help me
Sorry but I had several problems with this:
ReplyDeleteLogging in to Facetime; Gamecenter; ... did not work; Many Apps had problems regarding Push-Messages.
Tried to set the complete phone to system defaults end with a text-box saying as my phone is not registered as a developer it is unable to activate.
Finally I put my device on maintenance mode and did a complete recovery, this worked as expected.
I've installed it all fine but when i've set up my languages and everything, it says 'This device is not registered as part of the Iphone developer program. I have an Ipod touch 5th gen if that help
ReplyDeletedo i start from io7 beta 1 or beta 3
ReplyDeleteYou can update straight to iOS 7 beta 3, just make sure you restore your phone to the current firmware first (6.1.3 or 6.1.4)
DeleteIt doesn't work! After updating to iOS 7, it doesn't activate. It asks to register for the development program.
ReplyDelete"iOS you downloaded for iPhone 5 you would select iOS 6.1.4 for all other devices you would select iOS 6.1.3"
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletelinks are no loger in service
ReplyDeleteLinks re-uploaded. You can download ios 7
Deleteit says not activated or my account needs to be activated and im stuck now i cant do nothing !! did i just loose my iphone 5 ?!
ReplyDeleteIn case anyone locks up the process or gets the "Activate as Developer" crap just put your phone in DFU mode and connect it to iTunes and restore.
DeleteHi. I tried updating my iPhone 4S, and i'm stuck at the update process (my phone's currently on a black screen, with the white apple icon and a sorta loading bar below the apple icon) and it's been there for like 30 minutes now :(
ReplyDeletei'm on windows 7 and i can not find the .ipsw file when i extrack the file, that i've downloaded from Mega, with 7-zip. I've an iPhone 4S. what did i do wrong?
ReplyDeleteJust tried update to ios7 and got the Activate as Developer option as well. Followed all steps like normal. Anyone have any tips?
ReplyDeleteIn case anyone locks up the process or gets the "Activate as Developer" crap just put your phone in DFU mode and connect it to iTunes and restore.
ReplyDeleteBACKUP YOUR PHONE.
ReplyDeleteDOWNLOAD TO THE LATEST SOFTWARE.
DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT iOS7 BETA FOR YOUR PHONE.
WHEN YOU CONNECT YOUR iPHONE TO UPDATE TO iOS7 USE CHECK FOR UPDATES, NOT RESTORE.
I USED RESTORE AND IT GAVE ME THE ACTIVATE AS DEVELOPER AND THEN RE INSTALLED iOS6.1.4 AND REDID THE PROCESS USING CHECK FOR UPDATES INSTEAD. WORKED.
Sorry for all caps but if I did not follow these steps EXACTLY i'd have to go back to 6.1.4. Thanks evad3ers and everyone who gave their tips and tricks. Helped me out IMMENSELY!
hi i update to ios 7 but after done the iphone 4s just stuck on apple logo what ican do please help
ReplyDeleteRestore to 6.1.3
Deletewhile restoring it says " problem connecting server.please try later".. tried many times , what should i do...my phn is iphn 5 wit 6.1.4 firmware
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to restore to 6.1.4 or are you trying to go from 6.1.4 to iOS7?
Deletekeep getting "firmware not compatible" . on 4s, and i DID get the right firmware. My software is up to date at 6.1.3. Itunes is also up to date. Changed file to ipsw by changing the extension. my computer and itunes sees it. just keeps giving me a not compatible issue.
ReplyDeletedid you figure it out? im on the same boat..
DeleteArgh. I wish people would stop posting this kind of rubbish about the betas. If you don't have a registered UDID it will INSTALL fine, but will tell you your phone is not registered with the dev program once it boots into the OS. This will render your phone unusable, and force you to do a factory reset and restore.
ReplyDeletewell no it wont, i'm not posting "rubbish" just seeing if anyone had any ideas.

ReplyDeleteI was using ios 7.0.3 on my iphone 5, and today it just didn't get any network. After try everything i could remember, I decided to restore to ios 6.1.4, because a read somewhere that my problem was because apple had blocked my device.
Anyway when I try to restore to iOS 6.1.4, it got an error (ITUNES ERROR -1) and my device don't start anymore. It freeze in a loop, at the restore mode, and just don't left it, doesn't matter what i do.
I try to put all versions of IOS available, I try to use redsnow, tiny umbrella, and still the same.
Now I have a device that shows only that stupid error -1 when I try do fix it, and it is useless.
Please help me.
